The Chamber serves as the lead advocate for business at all levels of government. By developing positions on issues of public policy and communicating these positions, the Chamber creates value for its members. The Chamber provides a forum for the business voice to be heard. As a result, state, local, and federal leaders seek the audience of our members and their opinion with regard to public policy.

The Chamber’s Jr. Ambassadors are students in grades 9 – 12 in area schools. Applications to become a Jr. Ambassador are distributed to the schools each September and draw a good response from students eager to serve. After their first year, a number of students reapply for additional years in the organization.
Under guidance of Chamber Ambassadors, the junior representatives make their own significant contributions while learning the personal benefits of volunteerism. They also assist with Chamber events as they are developed. For many, serving as a Jr. Ambassador is the first step in lifelong volunteerism and community service.

Valley Times News
The mission of the Tourism Committee is to promote, develop and coordinate year-round tourism/visitation to the Greater Valley Area, and create an awareness and understanding of tourism’s effect on, and enhancement of, the local economy and residents’ quality of life. A major focus of the Tourism Committee is what we have right here at home: West Point Lake and the Chattahoochee River, our local sites on the Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail and the natural resources that we promote through our participation in the East Alabama Tourism Initiative.
