Chambers County Schools

Located in East Alabama, the school district is located halfway between Montgomery and Atlanta, a short distance from the Georgia state line. This creates a unique problem in that the school system is located in dual time zones (Central and Eastern). We are home to approximately 3,600 students and a workforce of around 500 full-time and part-time employees in 10 schools, a career technical center and the Board of Education central office.

Sixty-six percent of our certified personnel hold a master’s or higher academic degree and our teachers meet Alabama’s highly qualified standard for requirements of “No Child Left Behind”. Our career tech programs are certified to current business and industry standards and are among the best in the state.

Students have access to a wide range of academic and extracurricular choices. This year, Chambers County has begun to offer an expanded virtual option for high school students. Students participating in virtual programs are allowed to participate in all extracurricular activities. Lanett City Schools

The school district was established 120 years ago by the West Point Manufacturing Company. Schools are accredited by AdvancED and provide innovative education in a small town environment. Whether it is JROTC, Advance Placement courses, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education, visual arts, drama or music, Lanett schools proudly offer enrichment opportunities for all students. State championship athletics, an award winning band and a military Honor Unit of Distinction set Lanett schools apart from area program offerings. With just under 1,000 students district-wide, Lanett students enjoy small classes found in private or church schools. A high expectation for academics and behavior is noted through the district’s recognition as a Bronze Award recipient by U.S. News and World Report and by the implementation of school uniforms.
